Denise “DeeNice” Rhodes has worked in the Medical and Technology industries for over 20 years. Engaged in business development and territory sales management, she has worked to create, develop and implement strategic plans for companies like HP, Microsoft and pharmaceutical companies. As the winner of many awards, she built a stellar track-record of consistently exceeding sales objectives, boosting revenue and profit growth, while displaying outstanding leadership, and professionalism.

To speak of these accomplishments, without mentioning DeeNice’s unforgettable energetic, positive and always upbeat “go get em” attitude would be to undermine the Digital Dynamo’s true sense of character and talent.

Deenice’s nickname, the Digital DynamoÔ, which is also the trademarked name of her company, came about while being a local radio personality on WOL 1450AM Summer Jazz ’91 in 1991, Washington DC.

Her deep-rooted commitment and passion is to the needs of the urban community and surrounding areas. This prompted her to create and launch The Urban Progressive Foundation project, CDP, 501(c)(3) public charity in 1996.

The foundation’s purpose is to educate, train, inform, and create hands-on programs/events that enhance the lives of urban and rural communities. Through community education, technology use, and development,  it helps the underserved communities, such as senior/elderly, youth, disabled, low-income and rural individuals. These “underserved, yet well deserved” groups become engaged in technology through  educational programs that  support and promote personal growth in and for their communities.

How Did It Start?

During the early 1980’s, DeeNice got bitten by the “technology bug” which started her journey branded as “The Digital Dynamo” tm – in the relentless pursuit in taming the technology tiger(grrrrrrrrrr).  She has always had a strong passion for helping others become comfortable with technology, with a focus on the African-American communities. DeeNice has had the opportunity to speak for HP on the Tom Joyner Sky Show Cruise for two years, the National Press Club “Women in Technology”, in December 2008 sponsored the Transition to Digital Television impact on Underserved Communities at the National Press Club,as well as many other venues as a tech evangelist on how to become Empowered, Engaged and Excited with technology.

Currently with it’s main objective being the facilitation of the upcoming 2009 transition to digital television. She is a member of the Capital  PC User Group (Washington, DC) and as a speaker/trainer to spread the word about the transition. The Digital Dynamo specifically targets seniors/elderly, people with disabilities, low-income families and people living in the rural areas in the US.

Currently, she is working on the upcoming broadband initiative to focus on underserved communities.
